THQ Offers Free Right Now Media Subscriptions to Every Corps

Territorial Headquarters is providing one-year subscriptions for every corps and many local officers in the territory to Right Now Media, at no cost.

Right Now Media has been likened to the Netflix of church resources and is currently utilized by more than 10,000 churches and organizations. A subscription to the site includes access to thousands of Bible study materials, including books and corresponding videos, resources for children's programming, recordings of major conferences including Passion, Catalyst and much more.

The move is an attempt to increase access to quality Bible study resources to all corps but will have a larger impact on corps that struggle financially, where the latest and most well-written resources are often over budget and out of reach.

Major Algerome Newsome, territorial secretary for evangelism and adult ministries, led the subscription rollout when he began his appointment just a few months ago. He said the primary motivation was to increase the quality of discipleship at local corps.

"A lot of corps have struggled financially," he said. "This gives them access to things they wouldn't otherwise have and so now, there's no excuse for corps to not have a Bible study."

Subscriptions began in September, and while data is limited, anecdotal feedback shows that corps and local officers want the subscriptions to continue after the territorial funding expires next year.

"A lot of officers are writing to their divisional commanders, asking them to continue it," Newsome said.

He also reported a 92% response rate from officers, a rate unmatched by any site with the exception of Chesterfield, the insurance agency that manages officers' healthcare coverage.

"We need to embrace technology and use technology to advance the mission," he said.

"We are trying to figure out how we can provide better resources to the field. Right Now answered that question. So, now we're looking for what else we can do to help."
