University of Mississippi head football coach Hugh Freeze was the featured speaker at The Salvation Army of Greater Birmingham's Annual Dinner, with approximately 500 guests in attendance. Freeze is the first coach in the history of Ole Miss to guide the Rebels to a bowl game in each of his first three seasons, adding a fourth consecutive bowl win in 2015. His message was all about hope," said Major Bob Parker, Birmingham area commander. "That was especially appropriate because this evening also served as the official public announcement of our Building Hope Capital Campaign." The $15 million capital campaign will fund the relocation of 50-year old facilities and provide a new and more modern campus for The Salvation Army in Birmingham, known as the Center of Hope. At the time of the announcement, $12.5 million has been pledged to the campaign.
