DC Command Serves at Together 2016

The Northern Virginia Area Command served volunteers at Together 2016, a day of prayer, worship and teaching held on the National Mall in Washington. DC.

The free event drew thousands of Christians from across the country, united to hear the word, sing songs of praise and, hopefully, to be a force for change.

Under the direction of Area Commanders Majors Chip & Leisa Hall, officers and volunteers took shifts serving food and water out of a canteen until the National Park Service ended the event at 4:30pm due to extreme heat and more than a few medical emergencies related to heat and humidity.

Major Leisa Hall estimates that 1200 lunches and thousands of bottles of water were served.

“It was a great chance to do the most good and to serve people,” she said.
