Are Saturday afternoon Worship Arts Breakout Sessions mandatory?

No, nothing at Commissioning is mandatory BUT you will not want to miss a thing! When you register online, please choose the 2 breakouts you would like to enjoy – we have an AMAZING array of choices that you can choose from.

I have family members and/or friends who are non-Salvationists* and would like to attend Commissioning. Can they register, and if so, how?

Yes, everyone is welcome to attend Commissioning! They can register themselves through the website, or you can add their names to your own registration – individual registration is encouraged.

*Non-Salvationists – those who are not currently affiliated with a corps.

What is the deadline to register?

There is no deadline to register for Commissioning. But you WILL want to register ASAP so you are able to get your choice of breakout. Due to room size, there is a cap on the # each breakout can facilitate. So get your registration in early so you have your first pick!

Who is responsible for booking hotel rooms?

Two options:

  1. Ask your corps officer to include you in the corps group’s hotel arrangements
  2. Make your own booking. Visit this site to view Commissioning hotels

Will the entire weekend be live-streamed?

No, only Friday morning Commencement and the Sunday morning Ordination Service will be streamed live. The other sessions will be recorded and uploaded at a later date.

Will there be translation services?

Yes, we will be offering translation in Spanish and Korean

What’s the dress code for the weekend?

Officers, Classroom uniform for Friday and Saturday and full uniform on Sunday. Soldiers, we’d love to see you in uniform all weekend! If not, appropriate “dress” clothing should be worn.

What should I bring?

Hmmm… let’s see! First up should be your Bible, your uniform if you wear one; if you have a portable phone charger, pack one for those long days – and maybe a light jacket if the meeting room is chilly. And maybe a portable fan because it’s Hot-lanta, after all.

Will there be a special offering taken up?

Yes, Sunday morning offering for The Salvation Army’s work in Ukraine.

Will Trade South be at Congress?

Trade South will be open at Territorial Headquarters (1424 Northeast Expressway, Atlanta, GA, 30329) on the following days/times:

Tuesday – Thursday (May 31 – June 2): 9:00am – 4:00pm
Friday (June 3): 8:30am-4:30pm

*Orders can be made online for pick up at GICC on Saturday morning June 4

Is there parking at the Georgia International Convention Center? Does it cost money?

Yes and yes. Parking costs $10 each time you enter. If you are staying at one of the Commissioning hotels then you are within walking distance – it is literally right out the door! So you’ll want to register ASAP and try to book yourself into one of those hotels soon so maximize on the parking!

Is there anything I’m not allowed to bring into the venue?

No firearms, alcohol or outside food.
