Catalyst Brigade Visits AOK Division

The cadets of the Catalyst brigade brought many blessings and made indelible memories as they visited the Mountain Home and Jonesboro, Arkansas, corps in early March for spring campaigns.

The cadets' first stop was Mountain Home, where they were hosted by Captains Jerome and Jamie Spalding, then on to Jonesboro and Captains Joseph and Betty Price for a quick visit before returning to Mountain Home. Upon their arrival in Mountain Home, they toured the corps facility before preparing for the Wednesday Kids Klub program. They wrapped the day up with a spa party for the corps women and a game night for the men.

They had a busy Thursday that included nursing home visitation, a worship service and a Rotary meeting, where the cadets gave a presentation on The Salvation Army and how it has impacted them individually. Afterwards, they returned to prepare bags to take to local apartment complexes along with flyers for the upcoming block party. Three of the cadets had the opportunity to record sermons for radio broadcast.

A full Friday kicked off a full weekend as the cadets spent most of the day painting the downstairs area of the corps and setting up for Saturday's block party Some 277 people attended the party, which the cadets helped host. On Sunday, the cadets led the preliminaries, Sunday school and worship service. Cadet Ashley Mumford brought the message, "Are You a Disciple?" Cadet Aaron Millin provided the music for the service on his keyboard.
