Advisory Board Member Charlotte Berry recognized on National Philanthropy Day in Columbia, SC

Charlotte Berry, advisory board member and planned giving committee chair of the Midlands Regional Coordinate in Columbia, South Carolina, was honored during the Association of Fundraising Professionals annual awards luncheon.

Matt Mungo of the Michael J. Mungo Foundation presented Berry with its Community Builder Award for her philanthropy and commitment to the community.  She received a standing ovation from the audience.

Philanthropy has been a lifelong commitment for Berry.  She has served on boards for numerous non-profits including The Salvation Army, United Way of America, American Red Cross and many others; and has sponsored scholarships for local causes.

She and Ellen Hayden of the Midlands Advisory Board are actively promoting planned gifts to The Salvation Army in Columbia through the board's Planned Giving Committee, in coordination with Donna Grove, divisional planned giving director.
