A cross crafted by loving hands in Tampa

ARC Command Leaders Majors Gary and Liz Wilson recently toured the Tampa ARC with the center's administrators, Majors John and Katherine Reed. While walking through the new, magnificent chapel, which seats 250 persons, they remembered the prayers that were written on its floor and walls last year when the foundation had just been laid. The Wilsons also had the opportunity to learn about the large, illuminated cross, which hangs for all to see behind the altar.

The cross is made from pine wood that was reclaimed from a 100-year-old cathedral in North Carolina. When the wood arrived at the Tampa ARC, alumni hand-crafted it to become the 18-foot-high cross. Shaped by the hands of men who surrendered their
broken lives to Christ, the new cross is a beacon for all future men and women beneficiaries to seek the same wonder-working power in their own lives.
