From God-given scriptures to the founder of our movement, I am constantly reminded that God calls us all. Some are called to serve as officers, soldiers, corps members, adherents, volunteers, donors or just friends of the Salvation Army.

Some come into the weekend and know exactly what God has laid upon their heart. Others are still unsure and trying to figure out what's the next step. 730 weekend is a great opportunity to find out if the life as a Salvation Army officer is for you. 730 weekend was an amazing spirit filled weekend. The presence of God was truly there.

My fiance and I were paired with two awesome hosts, Cadets Victor and Myranda Estudiante. They were able to give us a glimpse of campus life and answer all the many questions we had. The weekend was filled with joy, peace, and a lot of prayer for Texas, Florida, and the Caribbean Islands affected by the Hurricanes. Being around the Messengers of Gospel and the Messengers of Compassion let me know that the Salvation Army is in good hands. Our current state and even more important our future is very bright.

I have learned that there is a lot that you need to sacrifice in order to accept the call, but none of it compares to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Some of us are afraid to answer the call because we fear the unknown, but there is no time to be afraid.

If you take a look at what is happening around the world you will see a lot of social injustices, natural disasters, and people relying on the ways of the world and not relying on the Lord. We are living in a time where we need the people who are called to answer the call. I believe that my calling is to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as an officer of The Salvation Army.
