On September 27, 2013 The Salvation Army of Martin County had a Prayer Walk in East Stuart for victims of Human Trafficking. This event was part of the annual weekend of Prayer and Fasting that The Salvation Army holds nationally for victims of human trafficking. For the past three years The Salvation Army in Martin County has held a prayer walk to commemorate this event led by Liuetenants Scott and Andrea Hoover of the Stuart Corps. This year the walk was led by the Stuart Corps SAMS, Marlina Diaz. Diaz and twelve others from the corps and community gathered together in prayer in the Stuart Corps parking lot.
From there they continued to walk throughout the surrounding neighborhood in East Stuart praying for rescue and restoration, the breakdown of the slavery industry, reduction of demand, development, world leaders, and the church. Along the way they encountered curious neighbors, areas of development, areas of need, and litter throughout. At one point the Lord led the group to pick up the litter. The Lord moved in such a mighty way that the group committed to continue to pray for this issue individually on a regular basis.
