Junior Soldier Hosts President Obama

Brittany

Brittany Wilson is a junior soldier at the Arlington, Virginia Corps, and a member of the student government at Kenmore Middle School.

Last spring, President Barack Obama visited Brittany’s school. The student government was permitted a question and answer period with the president. In addition, Brittany – a very friendly and bubbly person – was asked to host him as he walked around the campus.

Mr. Obama asked Brittany how her life was going. “Oh, it’s going great,” she told him. “I’m working really hard at school, and I go to church every Sunday.”

When the student government was gathered together, one of the students asked Mr. Obama if he were a Christian. He told them that he was. before leaving Kenmore Middle School that day – which is a public school – Mr. Obama asked the students if they would like to pray with him. There were many Christians in the group, and they agreed that they would like to pray together.

“Everybody had a chance to pray if they wanted to,” Brittany reports,” and the president prayed last. He prayed in the name of Jesus Christ.”
