Dear Friends,

Commissioning is such an exciting time for The Salvation Army!

We are pleased to announce the 2011 Commissioning of the Ambassadors of Holiness session with the weekend theme: Empowered¦ Holiness is What I Long For. There will be no registration fee to attend Commissioning. The majority of the weekend will take place at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre (2800 Cobb Galleria Pkwy. Atlanta, GA). Our honored guests for the weekend are Commissioners Kenneth & Jolene Hodder who serve at International Headquarters as International Secretary and Associate International Secretary for Personnel respectively.

On Friday, June 3, at the Evangeline Booth College, the Historical Center will be open for tours, the Silver Star Tea will take place (by invitation only), and the Commencement of the Ambassadors of Holiness session will be in the evening.

On Saturday, June 4, at the Cobb Energy Center, there will be a Holiness Meeting at 9:00 am with the message given by Commissioner Kenneth Hodder. The session will have presentations from the Territorial Band and Songsters and the Territorial Creative Arts Ensemble. In the afternoon, the Long Service Luncheon will take place (by invitation only). Also, we are excited to host a March of Witness in Marietta, GA. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the display of witness to the Marietta community. We will march through the streets of Marietta toward the Marietta Square where the Territorial Band will play a concert. The Territorial Creative Arts team will have witnessing performances along the route of the march and various other groups will be in participation as well. This will be an exciting opportunity for evangelism to the community of Marietta, GA.

In the evening of Saturday, June 4, Our People: The Musical will premiere at 6:30 pm in the CEPAC theater. This musical, written by Lt. Colonel Edward Hobgood and preformed with by a cast of cadets, depicts the conditions of the 19th century London impoverished community and the inspiration from God to William and Catherine Booth to start The Salvation Army. This musical has a powerful message for the world to remember where and why The Salvation Army originated and our mission for the future.

On Sunday, June 5, our weekend will culminate with the Commissioning and Ordination Service of the Ambassadors of Holiness session at the Cobb Energy Center. We encourage all to attend Commissioning 2011 of the Ambassadors of Holiness session. On this site, you will find information to promote this wonderful event and other details about the weekend. Please be in prayer for the Ambassadors of Holiness session as they prepare to be commissioned and begin their ministries as officers for The Salvation Army and the Kingdom of God.
