Charlottesville, VA – The Salvation Army is celebrating 100 years of service in Charlottesville. They celebrated by saying thank you to the community. A Salvation Army member stopped by the Charlottesville Fire Department and gave them a yummy gift of doughnuts and coffee just to show them that they care.
“We are a community and we all need each other to support each other and to keep people healthy and to meet their needs. The Fire Department and Police Department protect and save lives. We also work in the other room, we work in the social services end of it, giving soup, soap, and salvation,” said Melinda Johnson, Major of Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army is also holding a celebration on the Downtown Mall. They will have a parade and will be serving soup and doughnuts at the Arena.
